A death investigation remains underway in Phenix City.

The discovery of a deceased person occurred during the afternoon hours of Monday, September 15, 2025, on 23rd Court in Phenix City.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said the man was found submerged in a pool.

Officials scheduled an autopsy on the individual to determine the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
