Opelika officers investigating two discharges of firearm into occupied dwelling calls yesterday

Opelika police officers are investigating after they received two reports of a discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

The first reported incident occurred in the 1300 block of Harper Street — which is located in a residential neighborhood between the Opelika Municipal Court building and Carver Primary School.

The second report incident occurred in the 1 Block of Avenue B – which is also located in a residential neighborhood near Bandy Park.

This comes after a string of violence continues in Lee County. Lee County has recently seen a triple shooting which left two dead and one injured on Commerce Drive in Auburn and a 57-year-old man was found shot dead in a wooded area on Lee Road 140.
