The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Drug, Gang, and Fugitive Task Force assisted the Phenix City Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations Task Force with the arrest of a double murder suspect in Alabama.

Elijah Smith had outstanding warrants issued by the Columbus Police Department for 2 Counts of Murder and 2 Counts of Aggravated Assault. Smith was wanted in the double murder on Fort Benning Road on April 10th which left 19-year-old Marque Humber and 19-year-old Na’kevius Petty dead from gunshot wounds.

Smith was transported to the Russell County Jail without incident and is awaiting extradition to Muscogee County.
