Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman says what started off as a traffic stop for a speeder quickly went from receiving a citation/fine, to receiving a stay in the Muscogee County Jail.
Two deputies with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Bureau completed a traffic stop on Nadia Trawick (AKA Nadra Trawick) for speeding on Victory Drive today, December 19, 2022.
It was later determined Trawick also had outstanding warrants with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office for Contempt of Court. When the Corporal instructed the driver to exit the vehicle, the suspect started her car and attempted to drive off with the Corporal inside the vehicle. Another deputy attempted to assist in getting the suspect out of the vehicle from the passenger side, but the subject continued driving with the deputy also in the vehicle.
The suspect only came to a stop when her vehicle struck a tree in a nearby parking lot. The suspect was handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. Upon the arrival of supervisors, Trawick attempted to bite a Sergeant.
“Thankfully, the Corporal and Deputy were cleared by arriving medics,” Sheriff Countryman added, They sustained minor injuries. Nadia Trawick was also cleared by medics, but, as a precaution, was transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical for Jail clearance.
The suspect was charged with two Felony Counts of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor Obstruction of Law Enforcement, Speeding, Excessive Tint, and Improper Backing.
