One person was killed in a Russell County shooting early Wednesday morning.

The shooting, which occurred on Lloyd Street, where Candlewood Apartments is located in Hurtsboro, left 36-year-old Sammie Pritchett deceased from gunshot wounds, Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. confirmed to CNAW2NEWS.com.

Russell County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Deshondra Shawnese Green on February 1, 2023 for the charge of murder.

We have sent an emailed media request regarding the shooting to Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor, but we have not received a response at this time.
