A LaGrange teen is recovering from gunshot wounds after a shooting.

Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to WellStar West Georgia Hospital in reference to a person shot on February 1, 2023, at approximately 10:47 P.M.

When officers arrived, they spoke to the 17-year-old victim who was being treated in the emergency room for multiple gunshot wounds. The victim said he was walking on Daniel Street when he heard gunshots and then was hit by several rounds to the back side of his body.

“He said he did not see who was shooting in the area and he was able to run to a nearby house where he contacted a family member who took him to the hospital,” police said.

At this time the identity of the suspect or suspects is unknown. The Criminal Investigations Section is currently conducting an investigation into this incident.
