Son of Phenix City capital murder suspect was victim of deadly gun violence several years ago

CNAW2NEWS.com reporters continue to learn new details surrounding a Phenix City capital murder suspect.

Reporters have been investigating tips sent in by readers. The murder, which occurred on February 1, 2023, in the 3600 block of U.S. Highway 80 in Phenix City left a 12-year-old deceased and 50-year-old Tywoana Evette Anderson Jakes booked into the Russell County Jail on the charge of homicide-capital murder of a person under the age of 14. The 12-year-old who was killed was walking to the nearby Dollar General when he and two others, including his brother, walked onto her property and that is when gunshots struck the boy.

Yesterday, on February 2nd, we learned Jakes was involved in a September 2022 shooting at the same address. A man was shot in a trespassing dispute involving Jakes, sources told CNAW2NEWS.com.

Today, after investigating several tips sent in, we learned Jakes son, identified as Tevin Anderson was shot multiple times and killed at the same house on Highway 80 back in November of 2011. Anderson was only 20 years old when he was shot and killed.

Jakes remains in the Russell County Jail without bond. This is a developing story.
