15-year-old boy dies days after LaGrange shooting, police say

LaGrange police and the Troup County Coroner’s Office say a 15-year-old boy injured in a shooting has died.

Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 200 block of Handley Street in reference to a subject that had been shot on February 4, 2023, at approximately 7:47 P.M.

When officers arrived, they located a male juvenile near 14 Habersham Drive with a gunshot wound in his back. Officers began medical treatment on the subject until the ambulance arrived on scene.

The juvenile was transported by ambulance to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center and later transferred to Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

On February 7, 2023, at 12:47 P.M., the male juvenile shot in this incident was pronounced deceased at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Troup County Coroner Erin Hackley identified the juvenile as Quendarrius Woodyard, who is the third homicide victim in 2023 for the county.
