A Columbus elementary school took extra security measures this morning after shots were heard in the general area of the school.

Forrest Road Elementary School went on reported lockdown around 8:50 A.M. today. The school was lifted off of the lockdown shortly thereafter.

Police officers are in the area. This is a developing story.
