Columbus police are investigating a late Wednesday night shooting which left one person dead.

Columbus Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2900 block of King Street on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 around 10:36 P.M.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 40-year-old Joseph Delaney Kimble was pronounced dead at 11:33 P.M. after suffering multiple gunshot wound.

An autopsy has been scheduled and Kimble’s family has been notified. Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
