Columbus police, fire, and EMS units are on the scene of a shooting Monday afternoon.

The shooting occurred on Eighth Street near the Michael M. Fluellen Recreation Center. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says he is en route to the emergency room of Piedmont Columbus Regional after the 8th Street shooting victim was pronounced dead. The victim is 17 years of age.
