Worker dead after reportedly falling from ladder at Dudley Lumber in Salem, Lee County Sheriff says

A worker has died after an incident at a building supply plant in the Salem community of Lee County.

Authorities were called to Dudley Lumber Company, located at 8575 US-280 E, on a report of a worker falling from a ladder.

The worker is deceased on scene. Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton has identified the worker who died at Dudley Lumber as Johnny Frazier Jr, 63, of Opelika.

His body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy due to the incident occurring occurring at his place of work.

“The circumstances at scene are indicating this to be an accident,” Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says.

Sheriff’s Investigators responded and are looking into the event. This remains a developing story.
