Hogansville police working “possible gunshot incident” on W. Boyd Road, police chief confirms

UPDATE: Hogansville Police Department have determined that one individual suffered minor injuries consistent with shrapnel to her abdominal arm and leg. It was undetermined what she was struck with at this time and there is an on going investigation. Witness statements and statements from the victim all indicate that they heard a loud noise and the victim was struck with multiple pieces of shrapnel. Police have found no evidence to indicate an act of malice. HPD is asking anyone that may have been in the area and witnessed anything unusual to contact Capt. Rakestraw at 706-637-6648.

Original Story: Hogansville police are working a scene late Tuesday night.

Police Chief Jeffrey Sheppard confirmed to CNAW2News.com there is a possible gunshot incident on West Boyd Road.

The victim has superficial non life threatening injuries, and it has not been determined what the injuries are from at this time.

“Investigators will be reviewing security camera videos, and will continue to canvas for potential witnesses,” Chief Sheppard said. “At present no one has stated that they witnessed anything.”

Officers and investigators remain investigating the possible gunshot. This is a developing story.
