Eufaula police are investigating multiple shootings across the city, one which left a teen dead and another that involved police.

Police began investigating after they responded to a Medical Center Barbour for a gunshot wound at approximately 3:01 P.M. on January 7, 2024. Officers discovered an individual deceased from a gunshot wound to the head.

Hours later, two more incidents occurred. One happened at 9:44 P.M. and another at 10:22 P.M. Officers arrived on scene and it was determined that in both incidents multiple rounds were fired into two separate homes. “No injuries occurred and we believe these were related to the previous incident,” police said. 

Police then confirmed, at approximately 11:27 P.M., an officer involved shooting occurred near the intersection of Barbour and Eufaula Ave. No injuries occured and the State Bureau of Investigations has taken on the Investigation. One suspect was arrested.

“There were no threats on city schools, but due to the nature of events and individuals involved, schools were closed today, and closed tomorrow due to weather,” police added.
