A Columbus woman is dead and two others are injured after a serious crash overnight in Macon County.
The two-vehicle crash, involving a 2009 GMC Yukon and a 2004 Ford F-150, occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2023 on Interstate 85 near the 37 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Tuskegee, in Macon County.
45-year-old Angela L. Wilson, of Columbus, was fatally injured when the 2009 GMC Yukon she was a passenger in collided head-on with the 2004 Ford F-150 driven by a 40-year-old Opelika resident, identified as Rony G. Miranda. Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Miranda was injured and transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment.
The driver of the GMC Yukon, Adrien T. Wilson, 44, of Columbus was also injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
