Lee County elementary teacher charged with assault after classroom incident

A Lee County elementary school teacher is out on bond after being charged in a classroom incident occurred in mid-April.

Investigators said Lee County deputies received a report from the Loachapoka Elementary School principal on April 18, 2024.

“The principal stated that on April 17th 2024, at approximately 2:43PM, a first grade teacher, named Brittney Denise Buford, 32, from Auburn, struck a 7-year-old student in the face with her forearm,” officials said.

Investigators obtained evidence including video from the classroom.

Buford was arrested for Assault 3rd Degree by Lee County Sheriff’s Investigators on May 9, 2024. She has since been released on a $1000.00 bond.
