An arrest has been made following a law enforcement involved shooting last night in Phenix City.

The incident occurred at the Bamboo Motel on Opelika Road in north Russell County around 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2024. According to authorities, while executing an arrest warrant, a suspect had a weapon in his hands. Deputies fired two shots and leaving the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Eric Lamar Person, injured.

Person was taken into custody by law enforcement and taken to a nearby hospital where he was later released and booked into the Muscogee County Jail.
He is charged with aggravated assault, receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, theft by taking – auto, striking an unattended vehicle, driving while license suspended or revoked, driving without a valid license, no insurance, failure to report accident, and hit and run.
