Several school districts across the CNAW2News.com coverage area have announced delays and closures ahead of impacts from expected winter weather.

Here is a list of all east Alabama school districts that have announced a delay or closure:
- Auburn City School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Auburn University has announced a suspension of normal operations on Friday, January 10th.
- Chambers County School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Glenwood School has announced a closure of their campus on Friday, January 10th.
- Lanett City School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Lee County School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Opelika City School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Phenix City School District has announced an E-Learning Day for all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Russell County School District has announced an E-Learning Day for all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Springwood School has announced a closure of their campus on Friday, January 10th.
- Valley Haven School has announced a closure of their campus on Friday, January 10th.
Here is a list of all west Georgia school districts that have announced a delay or closure:
- Brookstone School has announced their campus will began operating at 10 A.M. on Friday, January 10th.

- Central Christian Church Preschool has announced a closure of their campus on Friday, January 10th.
- Columbus Technical College has announced a closure of their campus for Friday, January 10th.
- Harris County School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
- Muscogee County School District has decided to remain normal operating hours on Friday, January 10th.
- Troup County School District has announced a closure of all schools on Friday, January 10th.
Here is a list of all Government buildings across East Alabama and West Georgia that are closing or delaying opening on Friday:
- City of Smiths Station’s City Hall and Parks will be closed on Friday, January 10th.
- Opelika City buildings will be closed on Friday, January 10th.
- Russell County non-emergency government buildings will open at 10 A.M. on Friday, January 10th.
- All Superior Court buildings in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit (Chattahoochee, Harris, Marion, Muscogee, Talbot, and Taylor County) will be closed on Friday, January 10th.
- Lee County Circuit Clerk buildings will be closed on Friday, January 10th.
- ALEA Driver License Office in Opelika will be closed on Friday, January 10th.
Kay Ivey, the Governor of the State of Alabama has declared a state of emergency, which includes Lee County, and other counties in our viewing area. Brian Kemp, the Governor of the State of Georgia, has also declared a state of emergency.
The closures and delays come ahead of the possibility of winter weather in the Chattahoochee Valley.
The winter weather is expected to arrive in the area overnight on Friday morning and due to the freezing temperatures and precipitation, it could create icy road conditions.
