Columbus police have arrested a man after an hours-long standoff in Bibb City.

The standoff broke out around 3 P.M. on January 31, 2025, at the Lofts at Riverwalk on First Avenue.

Jailing records and sources confirm 34-year-old Michael D’Astoli was arrested around 6:20 P.M. after the police department’s SWAT Team breached the apartment’s window.

D’Astoli was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts – felony, aggravated stalking, and harassing phone calls. D’Astoli was also booked into the Muscogee County Jail on harassing phone calls 10 days ago on January 21, 2025.

No one was injured, but according to an email sent out by the complex’s team, residents had to shelter in place or evacuate from their rooms due to the situation.
