Phenix City police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon.
The shooting occurred around 2 P.M. on April 6, 2025, on Patricia Drive off of Woodland Drive. When officers responded to the scene, they located 45-year-old Douglas Drumm and 44-year-old Amber Drumm, both from Phenix City, AL both suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began to render medical aid.
“Officers then came into contact with Benjamin Caleb Corbett,” police said. “Corbett admitted to responding officers he was the one who shot. Corbett was taken into custody. The Criminal Investigations Division arrived on scene and took over the investigation.”
Corbett was arrested and transported to the Phenix City Police Department Investigations Division for questioning. Corbett has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm and was booked into the Russell County Jail.
