A Russell County chase Monday morning has ended in a serious collision.

The chase began on Auburn Road at U.S. Highway 80 West, turned onto U.S. Highway 80 West and drove westbound until it reached Highway 169 North. As it approached the intersection, the vehicle left the roadway, struck the sign to a nearby package store, entered the roadway again, and collided into several storage buildings.

At least two people were reportedly entrapped in the vehicle after the collision but were rescued by first responder personnel. It is unclear if anyone was transported to nearby hospitals. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and investigators with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office remain on scene investigating.

This remains a developing story.
