Authorities have released new details in a deadly altercation that occurred in the Cataula neighborhood of Harris County.

Deputies responded to a call about a person being shot at 645 Green Ridge Road around 8 P.M. on June 16th, 2025 and located 43-year-old Daniel R. McCourt suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. McCourt was pronounced deceased by coroner officials, according to Harris County Coroner Joe Weldon.

The sheriff’s office said, during the course of the investigation, 32-year-old Kristina Hodge, was identified as the assailant. She is currently being held at the Harris County Jail on charges of Felony Murder, Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has confirmed they responded to the scene to assist the sheriff’s office with crime scene processing only. This case remains under investigation.
