Arrest made in Tuskegee murder Thursday morning

Tuskegee police have arrested one man after a deadly shooting Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred in the 2900 block of Pruitt Court in the city of Tuskegee around 9:54 A.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The victim, identified as Quandaries Pollard, of Tuskegee, was pronounced deceased on scene from a gunshot wound.

“Tuskegee investigators diligently began the investigation, and the suspect was quickly identified, located and arrested within two hours of the original incident,” authorities said.

Kareem Washington, of Tuskegee, was located by officers and arrested. Washington was transported to the Pike County Detention Facility. Washington and charged with murder, possession of marijuana 2nd and tampering with evidence.

“After further investigation it was determined that the victim and suspect were acquaintances,” authorities said. The investigation remains ongoing.
