CNAW2News obtained jail records identifying the driver who crashed his corvette attempting to flee from deputies.

Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman said the corvette fled from deputies at a 100 MPH. The chase was called off but the driver turned off his headlights and continued on South Lumpkin Road toward base.

That is where the driver hit the curb at the roundabout landing into a wooded area where it caught fire.

The driver, identified as Clifford George Castillo, and the passenger, who remains unidentified, were taken into custody after fleeing on foot.
Castillo was arrested and booked into the Muscogee County Jail on 20 charges: willful obstruction of law enforcement, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding, reckless driving, operating without lights required by law, too fast for conditions, aggressive driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to signal lane change or turn, improper lane change, failure to have license on person, hit and run, failure to report striking fixed object, failure to report accident, criminal damage to property second degree, false report of a crime, change of address or name on driver’s license, no proof of insurance, failure to exhibit insurance, and failure to yield right of way to emergency vehicle.
The corvette, which caught fire, is a total loss.
