Security measures in place ahead of Turning Point USA event in Auburn

Tonight, the Neville Arena in Auburn will be the center of a Turning Point USA event.

The event is part of a Turning Point tour across multiple universities and colleges across the United States of America, following the September assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk, in Utah.

The event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. CST, will feature Eric Trump, Lara Trump, Senator and candidate for Governor Tommy Tuberville, and conservative commentator Benny Johnson.

Auburn University’s Campus Safety and Security office has closed off the Neville Area parking lot to ensure safety and security ahead of the event.

The parking lot will close at 2 P.M. CST, with vehicles not being allowed to enter after 12 P.M. CST or exit after 2 P.M. CST.

The lot ‘must remain secured’ from 2 to 10 P.M., according to campus safety and security. The parking lot will reopen at 10 P.M.

In addition to parking security, according to an email sent to those who bought tickets and to press outlets, those who attend the event should expect ‘TSA-like screening’ and magnetometers, and are asked not to bring prohibited items such as aerosols, ammunition, drones, firearms, knives, signs, or other safety hazards.

A large attendance is expected tonight.
