Columbus fire crews extinguish vacant structure fire

Columbus Fire and EMS are on the scene of a structure fire at this hour.

CNAW2News.com began receiving word of the fire at 2025 Fifth Avenue around 8:25 P.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2025. The fire could be seen in the sky from residents in Columbus and Phenix City.

Columbus Fire and EMS Deputy Chief Daniel Macon confirms the fire occurred at a vacant rental property.

Six units and 14 firefighters with the department are on scene, alongside police officers.

CNAW2News.com spotted firefighters spraying the home with water to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.
