Fire crews are working to extinguish a blaze Sunday afternoon in the Crawford community of Russell County.

The fire is taking place on Padgetts Road, also known as County Road 32, just off of Alabama Highway 169.

Crawford, Ladonia, and Uchee Creek volunteer fire departments, along with CARE Ambulance and Russell County Sheriff’s Office are on scene.

Heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from a building, as well as a large amount of brush nearby.

No injuries have been reported. Expect a first responder presence if in the area.
