A Columbus woman has died after a crash Saturday afternoon.

The crash, which involved a 2019 Nissan Rogue colliding head-on with a 2017 Dodge Journey, happened on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, around 4:15 p.m. central standard time. The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 80 W near mile marker 200, located 14 miles west of Phenix City.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue, identified as Marie B. Thompson, 70, was critically injured and transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown campus. Thompson has since died from her injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Journey, identified as a 40-year-old Prattville man, was also taken to Piedmont for injuries. His condition is unknown.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
