Opelika man arrested in rape investigation

Opelika police arrested a man in connection to a rape investigation.

The investigation began on Saturday, February 14, 2026, when Opelika police officers responded to the area of Pleasant Circle regarding a report of a possible rape.

Prior to officers’ arrival, the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Mar’Quavious Jamon Miller, had fled the residence on a bicycle.

“Officers secured the scene and collected statements from the juvenile victim’s family members,” police said. A short time later, officers located Miller in the area of S. Long Street and York Avenue.

He was taken into custody and charged with First-Degree Rape.
