Chase ends on Lee Road 240 in Phenix City

A high speed chase has ended in the Phenix City area of Lee County.

The chase began on Auburn Road (Lee Road 236) near 39th Street around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The chase involved a fleeing driver in a white SUV.

The chase ended at the intersection of Lee Road 236 at Lee Road 240 following a crash. At least one small sedan was seen with front end damage caused by the crash with fleeing driver. Both vehicles were seen being towed away by wrecker services.

Smiths Station Fire and Rescue, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are on scene with the Phenix City Police Department.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area, if possible.
