LaGrange police investigating brutal assault of elderly man on Turner Street

Authorities are investigating a violent assault that left a 67-year-old man seriously injured Saturday evening in LaGrange.

According to the LaGrange Police Department, officers responded to a call at approximately 8:15 p.m. on March 29, 2026, at 121 Turner Street regarding a person injured during a fight. Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from severe injuries to his head and face.

Due to the extent of his injuries, the victim was airlifted to a hospital in the Columbus area for emergency treatment. At the time of transport, he was unable to provide a statement to investigators.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Division was called to the scene and has since launched an investigation into the assault. Witnesses reported that a black male suspect was seen violently attacking the victim, repeatedly punching and stomping on his head while he lay motionless on the ground.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30s to early 40s, with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray sweatpants and was reportedly walking toward the 150 block of Turner Street following the incident.
