Columbus police are investigating a shooting Saturday evening.

Shots rang out shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the 2700 block of Beacon Avenue near 28th Street just between the city’s Rose Hill and Waverly Terrace neighborhoods.

Crime scene tape ropes off the entire section of Beacon Avenue, as officers with the patrol division and investigators with the crime scene investigations division are on scene.

Several crime scene markers are seen in the front yard of a home.

At least one person was reportedly injured and taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown campus.
