Teen killed, two others injured after gunfire erupts during altercation at LaGrange bar and grill
LaGrange investigators are still piecing together details in a triple shooting at Mason’s World, a local bar and grill in the city.
LaGrange Police Officers responded to Mason’s World, 1009 Hogansville Road, as well as LaGrange Car Wash 307 Vernon Street (LaGrange Car Wash) in reference to multiple people shot around 11:59 P.M.
Police found two 16-year-old males, one with a gunshot to the leg and the passenger, identified as 16-year-old Laquan Dewberry, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso area.
“The information received at this time was that this incident occurred at 1009 Hogansville Road(Masons World),” police said.
Life saving efforts were started at this time on Dewberry, and he and the other 16-year-old victim were transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center.
Dewberry was pronounced deceased at Well Star West Georgia shortly upon arrival. The other 16-year-old was treated and subsequently released.
During this same time officers responded to 1009 Hogansville Road and found a 17-year-old female who was also suffering from non life threatening gun shot wounds. She to was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center where she was subsequently treated and released.
It appears the shooting incident occurred at the end of a “teen” gathering at Mason’s World and as the event was ending at least two groups of teens became engaged in an altercation that led to the start of indiscriminate gunfire, resulting in these persons being shot and one of the teens ultimately losing their life.
“This case is still under investigation as interviews are conducted and other evidence in collected,” police added.
