Missing Phenix City man, Marcus Jones, identified as body found in Chattahoochee River
A sad end to a missing person investigation after 38-year-old Marcus Jones who was last seen walking on N Railroad Street on January 27th has been identified as the body which was found early Sunday afternoon in the Chattahoochee River.
Jones was found by three kayakers at 2:00PM this afternoon which then led to Columbus Police and Columbus Fire/EMS rescue crews to respond to the scene. First responders pulled Jones out of the river around 2:05PM.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan arrived to the scene and pronounced Jones deceased at 2:20PM.
No other details have been confirmed.
