Armed robbery reported at Salem Get N Go in Lee County
Authorities in Lee County are investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Saturday night at a convenience store in the Salem community.
At approximately 10:43 p.m. on May 3, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a female clerk working at the Salem Get N Go, located in the 900 block of Lee Road 240. According to the clerk, two black males wearing hoodies and masks entered the store brandishing handguns.
The suspects reportedly went behind the counter, where one demanded money from the register while the other took cigars and vapes from a shelf. After collecting the stolen items, both individuals fled the scene on foot, running around the side of the building. The clerk was not injured during the incident.
Deputies and investigators arrived promptly and discovered a trail of stolen merchandise leading from the store toward the roadway. Surveillance footage from inside the store clearly captured one of the suspects holding what appeared to be a silver-colored semi-automatic handgun.
No arrests have been made. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the robbery to contact them at 334-749-5651 or reach out to Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).
The investigation is ongoing.
