Pregnant LaGrange woman was stabbed to death in targeted attack by two acquaintances
An investigation into the stabbing death of a pregnant LaGrange woman has led to two suspects being arrested.
The woman, identified as 26-year-old Breanna Burgess, was found deceased at a parking lot after LaGrange police officers patrolling Fort Drive discovered her body. Burgess was stabbed and pronounced deceased by Troup County Coroner Erin Hackley.
The investigation revealed two suspects, Curteze Avery and Shallandra Freeman, were involved in the death of Burgess.
Detectives were able to determine that Avery, Freeman, and Burgess had been acquaintances for several years and the victim was targeted. The incident was not a random act of violence involving strangers.
Avery and Freeman were located at their home on Alton Drive along with evidence of the crime. Both suspects were arrested and charged with Murder and Feticide as it was discovered that Burgess was approximately 20 weeks pregnant.
The suspects are being held without bond. This investigation is active and anyone with information is urged to contact members of the LaGrange Police Department.
