Opelika con-artist, Kyle Sandler, freed from prison
Monday morning – the rumors of infamous con-artist, Kyle Sandler, being freed began to be the talk of Alabama.
Sandler began his operation in 2014 when he was going to start up a tech company called Roundhouse. He conned about 50+ investors, which was a total of $1.9 million dollars.
The $1.9 million dollars from the 50+ investors went straight to Sandler’s child care, rent, and cars.
The Baltimore native told residents he was a Google executive, but that was a massive lie, including the part he left out which was his arrests for theft, forgery and check fraud. He also was convicted in two states for attempted theft and forgery.
The Round House then closed in 2016, and two years later he was arrested in Texas. Sandler plead guilty in 2018 to one court of wire fraud and one count of securities fraud. Sandler was then sentenced to five years and three months in prison and was ordered to return the millions of dollars to the investors. 2022 – five years later – Sandler is freed and on his way to Florida.
Sandler seems to be back at it with money as he set up a GoFundMe for $2,500 dollars. The GoFundMe is titled “Rebuilding from Nothing”.
The description on the donation website also reads, “I was woken up on Valentine’s and told I earned immediate release and they put me on a Greyhound Bus Wednesday.
The description says he is starting from nothing and needs a little to get back on his feet. The donations could help him relocate to Florida, buy some clothes, a backpack, and other supplies.
Sandler posted on his instagram “he is ready to show the world his best, transparently”.
Opelika Bulletin Board broke the story Monday morning.
