Lee County Revenue Commissioner, Alabama State Senate member arrested after city ordinance violation
Law enforcement officials have confirmed breaking information Monday afternoon involving two familiar east Alabama people.
Lee County Revenue Commissioner Oline Price and her husband and Alabama State Senate member, Randy Price, were arrested by Opelika Police Department, the department confirmed. Both were arrested on Monday, August 15th for three misdemeanor warrants in relation to city ordinance violation 4-78, large animals running at large.
The charges are from a complaint from a neighbor that were investigated by Opelika Animal Control. The complaints were then filed with the Opelika Municipal Court and probable cause was found for the warrants to be issued. The Prices turned themselves in at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Opelika city ordinance 4-78 states: “It shall be unlawful for the owner or person in charge of any large animal to cause, permit or allow such animal to run or to be at-large. The fact that any large animal has been kept on a particular premises, together with its subsequent appearance at-large, shall raise a prima facie presumption that the owner or person in charge of the premises permitted or allowed a violation and the burden of proof shall be upon the owner or person in charge to prove otherwise.” To read more about the violation, click Sec. 4-78. – Large animals running at large prohibited. | Code of Ordinances | Opelika, AL | Municode Library.
