A suspect has been arrested in the double shooting which left a 19-year-old female dead and another female injured on August 8th in the city of Columbus.
Police and medics were on the scene of the shooting shortly after 11:00 P.M. on August 8th at Wild Bill’s Pawn and Jewelry, which is located at 3475 Buena Vista Road, where they found two victims.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed that 19-year-old Nevaeh Nevels was pronounced deceased by Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson at 11:47 P.M. due to multiple gunshot wounds. She turned 19 over a month ago on July 2nd. The next of kin for Nevels was notified.
The second victim is still alive but reportedly in an induced coma at a medical facility. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan tells CNAW2NEWS.com, “the suspect chased the victims down Buena Vista Road, the victims turned down Parkchester Drive, they then took a right on Mill Road, which then led them to turn into Wild Bill’s, clipped the curb and spun out, and the suspect got out of his car and opened fire.”
The suspect, identified as Marquavious Spearman, was arrested by law enforcement officials during the afternoon hours of Sunday, August 14th. Spearman was extradited over to Muscogee County Jail in late August 14th. He is charged with murder-family violence, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies.
