Lee County investigators searching for law enforcement impersonator
A law enforcement official impersonator is now wanted by Lee County investigators after the impersonator performed a traffic stop on a woman.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says the incident occurred Wednesday afternoon near Lee Road 193 and U.S. Highway 280, in Salem near the Dudley Lumber site.
The suspect was described as a white male, who was driving a white 2011-2017 Dodge Ram with white/blue light. The suspect had a bald head and wearing a white shirt with some type of badge.
The suspect stopped the woman, got out of the white Dodge Ram, asked for her license and registration, and walked back to the vehicle. The woman called 911, and he heard her and fled. No physical contact was made between the woman and the impersonator.
Deputies responded to the intersection and the incident is now under investigation.
