UPDATE: 17-year-old shot on Chester Avenue in Opelika
Opelika Police have released additional information involving a shooting investigation Thursday afternoon.
Opelika Dispatch received calls regarding a juvenile who had been shot in the area of Chester Avenue and Easy Street on September 15, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Officers located a 17-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived on scene.
The victim was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arrival. Opelika Police Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
