Columbus Community Ambulance medics announced as Piedmont’s First Friday Heroes
Two Community Ambulances medics have been recognized as Piedmont Columbus Regional’s First Friday Heroes.
Piedmont recognized Logan Williamson and Kathryn Conner with Community Ambulance after they responded to a call where a 3-year-old was suffering from a gunshot wound on February 1st on Green Ridge Drive. “They performed extreme measures in an attempt to stabilize the patient for transport to Piedmont Columbus Regional’s Emergency Trauma Center,” the post said. “Once at the hospital, Williamson and Conner stayed to assist staff in treating the patient. Unfortunately, the child passed away as a result of their injuries.”
After facing an unspeakable tragedy, Williamson and Conner composed themselves and went back out in the field to finish their shift. “Additionally, we’d like to thank firefighters Nay Delgado, Dawson Williamson, and Caleb McLeod from Columbus Fire and EMS Station 11 for their assistance with this tragic situation,” Piedmont Columbus Regional hospital said.
