Serious numerous vehicle accident on Hwy. 280 near Summerlake Apts. in Smiths Station

Original story: A serious numerous vehicle accident has occurred on U.S. Highway 280 Eastbound near Summerlake Apartments in Smiths Station.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Smiths Station Fire and Rescue, Lee County EMA, Alabama Department of Transportation, Russell County EMA, CARE Ambulance, EAMC ETS, Alabama State Troopers are on the scene of at least a 20-30 vehicle wreck. Multiple other agencies are in en route to the scene.
At least three people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 280 near Lee Road 980, in Lee County are currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time.
