ALEA investigating deadly Wednesday crash on Interstate 85 in Macon County
A deadly crash this week on Macon County only interstate is under investigation by Alabama state troopers.
The single-vehicle crash, involving a 2018 Honda HR-V, occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, on Interstate 85 st Mile Marker 42.
State officials say 51-year-old Otis L. Taylor, of Midway, GA, was fatally injured when the 2018 Honda HR-V he was driving left the roadway and struck a bridge column. Taylor was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
