Opelika police investigating possible road rage shooting on Interstate 85
Opelika police say an investigation is underway after a possible road rouge shooting yesterday on Interstate 85.
The investigation revealed that around 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 the victim was traveling southbound on I-85 and began to merge into one lane due to construction. The vehicle behind them swerved onto the shoulder and proceeded to pass the victim.
“The suspect ended up striking the victims vehicle with theirs,” police said. “Both vehicles continued traveling southbound when the suspect fired an unknown weapon which struck the victim’s fender.”
The suspect then proceeded to exit the interstate at Exit 57. Police were called after the situation and only have one side of the story at this time.
No other developments in the case have been made at this time.
