Third arrest made in Avalon Apartment complex murder
A third arrest has been made in connection to a deadly May shooting at a south Columbus apartment complex.
The shooting occurred on May 5, 2025, at Avalon Apartments on Cusseta Road and left 33-year-old Chastin Hunter deceased and his relative injured.
Following an investigation by members of the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, Eugene Mabry, 69, and Anthony Pollard, Jr., 17, were arrested on May 6, 2025.
More than a month later, investigators were able to arrest Kadin Mabry, 16, on June 10, 2025.
All three subjects are charged with murder and aggravated assault. While Pollard and Eugene Mabry are charged with armed robbery, and Kadin Mabry is charged with criminal attempt armed robbery. Pollard is also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The investigation remains ongoing.
