Three arrested in connection to Manchester murder of Fayetteville man
Authorities have made three arrests in the ongoing murder investigation of a Fayetteville man.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Kimani Copeland, 21, of Manchester, Meriwether County, GA, on charges of aggravated assault and murder.
Copeland is accused in the fatal shooting of Shawn Jackson Jr., which occurred shortly after midnight on April 30, 2025, outside a residence on Maple Street in Manchester. According to the GBI, Jackson was shot following an argument between two individuals in front of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition to Copeland’s arrest, authorities also arrested De’Qavious Copeland, 22, and Arionne Leonard, 25, both of Waverly Hall in Harris County, GA. They have been charged with hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal, in connection with the case.
Kimani Copeland was initially booked into the Harris County Jail and later transferred to the Meriwether County Jail. De’Qavious Copeland and Leonard remain in custody at the Harris County Jail.
The case had been the focus of a manhunt after the GBI and Manchester Police Department asked for the public’s help in locating Kimani Copeland earlier in May. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with additional information to contact the GBI regional investigative office in Midland (Columbus) at (706) 565-7888, or the Manchester Police Department at (706) 846-3155.
