LaGrange man arrested after having inappropriate sexual conversations with 11-year-old girl
A LaGrange man is in jail after having inappropriate sexual conversations with an 11-year-old girl.
Members of the LaGrange Police Department’s ICAC Task Force after officers responded to reports of the man having a sexual conversation with an 11-year-old on June 22, 2025, at approximately 6:00 PM. 19-year-old, Cristian Marcos Cortez was detained and subsequently placed under arrest after detectives located child sexual abuse material on his phone. Cortez was transported to the Troup County Jail and was charged with Child Molestation and Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation.
The LaGrange Police Department is urging anyone who may have information related to this case to contact Detective Hackett at 706-883-2697. Tips may also be submitted anonymously via the Tip411 system by using the mobile app, accessing the online portal, or texting the keyword **LAGRANGE** to 847411.
