Columbus woman found dead with gunshot wounds off Cusseta Road
A Columbus woman found shot and killed in the southern end of the city has been identified.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says 53-year-old Mozelle Barbee was shot by another person and suffered gunshot wounds. Barbee was pronounced dead at 6:40 P.M. on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Barbee was found dead at the end of 20th Avenue near Mason Street. Her next of kin has been notified.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the homicide. This is the fourth homicide in three days.
