Pregnant teen has passed away days after Columbus shooting; stillborn baby makes case a possible double homicide
A teenager has died days after a weekend shooting in east Columbus.
Police and other first responders responded to a shooting with two people injured in the area of Juniper Avenue off of Macon Road on July 27, 2025 at a residence where a gathering was taking place.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirmed that one of the victims, 17-year-old Keianna McFadden, was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. on August 1, 2025, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Bryan also confirmed that McFadden was pregnant and stated that “her baby was stillborn, so that makes it a possible double homicide.”
Police say McFadden’s death is now being investigated as murder and her unborn child’s death is being investigated as a feticide.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred during a gathering at the residence on Juniper Avenue.
McFadden will be going for an autopsy at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Her family has been notified. The second victim in the shooting was shot multiple times and is in stable condition.
The Columbus Police Department Violent Crimes Unit are investigating the deadly shooting. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cpl. M. Spivey at 706-225-4261. You can remain anonymous.
